Happy Halloween!!

Halloween Baking

The weather is getting cooler, the wind is more crisp, the leaves are turning color and the little guy has been jumping on the dried leaves on the ground. Fall has definitely arrived here in California. We've made our annual trip to the pumpkin patch (pictures coming soon!). It's the best time of the year! Driving by several pumpkin patches everyday, seeing all the fall colors everywhere. The smells, the holiday treats and even the special starbucks coffee (although anything pumpkin flavored sounds weird to me, I've never even had pumpkin pie).

Happy October!

It's the first day of October, which means our favorite holiday is right around the corner! We love Halloween decorations, Halloween crafts and anything Halloween really! Little guy's costume has been ready since August, and he's excited to go trick or treating again. Here are some Halloween treats to help you get into October-mode! Enjoy.

Happy Halloween 2012!

The little guy is feeling better just in time for some Halloween trick or treating! But before we go and collect our candy tonight, we went out with our little buddy Ezra and had a mini photoshoot on a gloomy (but luckily not rainy) Wednesday. Thanks to my talented good friend Lisa, we took an online costume inspiration and made it into a (cute) reality.

2012 Halloween Costumes

I'm sure a lot of parents are trying to find the perfect Halloween costumes for their kids right about now, so I thought I'd put together a little favorite list and help with the search for a ready-made Halloween costume. I wish I was like some of my friends who can create wonders with their sewing machines, but for those of us who can't sew for the life of us, we sometimes need to buy them :D and that's ok!

Our Halloween Costume

We had a mini Halloween photo session with the kiddos yesterday. It's so hard to get a 21 month old and a doggy to stay where you want them to for longer than 10 seconds. I was exhausted by the time we were done so kudos to kid photographers!

ChitterChatter: Halloween Traditions

I saw the Frankenstein door on Pinterest and thought it would be fun to try this Halloween, so Seiya and I had our first "craft session" together and we had a blast. He mainly played with the spider legs while I cut and glued everything together, but it was still fun! All you need is some felt and some card stock and a hot glue gun. The tricky part was how to adhere it to the door and I ended up using a bunch of glue dots and some packaging tape.

Creative Pumpkins

At first sight, you can't even tell the above image is a pumpkin with pumpkin seeds on top! Therefore, it's brilliant! I know it's not very "Halloween-y", but while I was looking for fun pumpkin carvings for this post, I realized that almost anything can be carved into a pumpkin these days! It's crazy! I even saw the Statue of Liberty! But my top two for originality and creativity are these two pumpkins. The one below is impressive because it's hard to get characters to look so accurate and this one took so much "carving" skills to get it right!

If you are a crafty person and you like making your own Halloween costumes, then kudos to you! I think children who get home-made anythings are lucky little duckies! Here are some of my favorite DIY costumes and their how-to's.

Halloween Ornaments

Seiya got to wear this year's halloween costume for the first time today. We went to a Halloween event and he already collected some candy (that will be devoured by his mommy and daddy because he's still too young for candy). So in honor of Halloween, I'm going to try and dedicate this week's posts to the spooky (spooky + cute). I found these cute halloween ornaments and just had to share.
