Happy New Year 2013!

2012 was a good year. Going from 2 years old to close to 3 years old, a lot has changed with the little guy and it's been a pleasure witnessing all those wonderful changes and developments. It's hard to believe that less than 2 years ago, he wasn't able to say much, and now he's talking none stop. That's probably the biggest change. With that comes a more apparent personality. We are so blessed to have this considerate, kind-hearted little boy. We don't really have resolutions for the coming year except to continue doing our best in raising the little man.

Our Asia Trip: Part Four - To Taiwan We Go!

After spending ten fun days in Japan, we made our way to Taiwan where S's other grandparents live (aka my parents). We went from freezing cold winter weather to sunny days in the 80's - the constant temperature change was probably one of the main reasons we got sick. Taiwan's main attraction is well-known around the world, food! Everyone travels to Taiwan to enjoy delicious and affordable food. Night markets, bubble tea, spicy hot pots, sea food and other delicacies we grew up with were a must. All our days were spent eating, eating and eating. This explains all our "eating" pictures!

Our Asia Trip: Part Three - Tokyo Disneyland

We've been back a little over a week now, but I haven't gotten to blogging because I got attacked by the sick bug as soon as we got back. Fever, cough, runny nose, migrane, the works. Add to that jetlag (which we always have trouble with coming back) and an equally sick toddler. It's been a rough week to say the least. But we finally started feeling stronger right in time for Christmas. The little guy got some pretty awesome Christmas presents including tools and a basketball hoop he asked for in his letter to Santa.

Being in Japan means that we take the train a lot to get around. The little guy loves taking the train, and this time around insisted on grabbing on to the handles by himself (even when he was falling asleep). We took him to the Doraemon museum. For those who don't know, Doraemon is a really famous character in Japan (and all of Asia). He's a character we all grew up with and love, so naturally, we introduced him to S as soon as he started to watch cartoons! The walk to the museum was fun because there were mini statues of all the beloved characters along the way.

Our flight to Tokyo went smoothly. I packed a backpack full of new (and hopefully) exciting things for the little guy. With a 10 hour flight ahead of us, I knew we needed lots of entertainment. I will blog more about what we ended up packing later on. But one thing that did help pass the time on the plane was a new friend S met at the airport who, by chance, ended up sitting right in front of us on the flight.

Yes we are! We are getting ready to leave on our annual trip to Japan & Taiwan where S's grandparents are. Living so far away from them, we've made it a tradition to visit the grandparents once a year so that they can spend quality time with him and witness how much he's grown and changed. This year, I am sure they will be blown away because he's a talking-machine compared to last year and he is now mr. personality with an opinion and everything! We are excited to attend my husband's cousin's wedding in Japan this time around.

Storybox Play Sets

A few days ago, I took the little guy to some of our favorite toy stores around the area to start on our christmas shopping and to find little toys to hide in his backpack for our trip next week. Shopping for kids stuff has become my biggest obsession. It's just as much fun (if not more fun) for me as it is for S. I step into a toy store and my eyes start to wander in all directions. It's really hard for me not to find something I want to buy each time we go.

NOE Animal Zoo

Made of cedarwood, this toy is made for balancing, stacking and can be played with in the bath. These adorable wooden animals can stick to bath tiles when wet! I also love the fact that you can store coloring pencils in the wooden box. This would make for a wonderful Christmas present! Get them HERE!
