During the summer, parents search for ideas and activities for their kids. And even those who are signed up for swimming classes, summer camp and other outside activities will have times when they look for activities or DIY's to do with their little ones at home. Your solution: Kiwi Crate! The idea is genius: someone else will come up with the idea for you, they will send you all the instructions and materials needed in a box right to your home and there you have it, a fun project for you and your kids!

Surely the whole world knows about the Gibbs Smith Babylit books! I know my friends and I were crazy about them when they first came out (yes, my friends are grown ups, some without kids). We wanted to collect them all! All-time classics were taken and made into the cutest baby books with simple character introductions and number counting.

Personalized Flash Cards

I've always loved the products of Pinhole Press, so it's no surprise that I think these personalized flash cards are a fabulous idea! Make it more engaging for little ones by putting pictures they're familiar (people they know, their own toys, etc.) with with each letter and help them learn their alphabets. Flash cards are a great method for teaching new things, and we've been using them since the day S was born.

Making it Lovely: Crafty Like A Fox Party

This baby shower theme created by Nicole of Making it Lovely is yep, lovely! Who doesn't love a fox-themed-anything really, but I love how she took the theme and didn't make it too literal. There were foxes here and there, but her color palette was inspired by a table cloth by Rifle (which I LOVE ofcourse!).

There's no better place than Ikea for better basics, and that includes kid things. If you're looking for a little kitchen for your little chef, it's a one-stop shop at Ikea. Their kitchen is one of my all-time favorites because of it's simple clean lines and modern colors.

Watermelon Munchies

One of our favorite things about summer is watermelon! The crispness, the freshness and the juiciness all in one. And like his daddy (whose favorite fruit is watermelon), S fell in love with watermelons at first bite. It's been ridiculously hot in Northern California this past week (over 100 degrees!), and on days like that, watermelon would be such a sweet relief! We're sharing some fun watermelon recipes today for some hot summer days ahead. Enjoy!

Happy weekend everyone! We hope you had a fun July 4th!

Gone Fishing.

We visited the toy story this weekend and brought home a fishing toy! The little guy has been playing with it none stop ever since, and that doesn't happen often. New toys usually lose their entertainment value within an hour max. It's a magnetic fishing toy, but once you catch the fish, you reel it in like a real fishing pole. So S has been really concentrating on where the magnet (aka hook) goes, and he's been practicing lifting the pole ever-so-gently so as not to drop the fish. I love discovering great toys, and this one sure is a keeper!

ChitterChatter: It Gets Harder When They Can Talk...

Yup, it's confirmed! Three's are definitely harder than two's. I need to talk to whoever came up with the idea of the terrible two's because all of my friends who have experienced both ages agree that three gets even trickier. From one to two, parents need to get used to the idea that their babies can now talk a little. And once they can walk, they can run away and they're stronger than just a baby who lies around all day. But when the three's come, they not only talk, they have opinions, they reason, they ask TONS of questions, and they sometimes stump you. I find myself saying "um...

Funko Pop Plushies

If you've been following the blog, you already know that S woke up one day and decided he loves superheroes and that he can sometimes transform himself into a superhero. Mostly Captain America, Iron Man and the Hulk (Thor only showed up once or twice). Boys will be boys! But because he's only 3 years old, and I am so not ready to get into the action-figures-lying-all-over-the-house phase, for our trip to Hawaii, I wanted to surprise him with some new exciting superhero toys while keeping it still "cute".
