The "Count The Animals" app by Appracadabra is one of our favorite counting apps. It teaches children to count in various languages, so we especially love it because it has Japanese (one of the languages we're trying to teach our little guy!). The app's illustrations are wonderful and whimsical, unlike any app I've seen so far. And the stories have a hint of wit and humor.

I still can't believe we're already thinking about school for our 2 year old! Wasn't he just born? But one of the most exciting things about going to school is personlizing your things. I remember when I was little, I would arrange all my pencils and pick a pencil case the day before school and I'd get so excited I couldn't go to sleep at night.

I'm a big fan of wallpapers even though we don't have any wall-paper-covered walls in our house - yet! But they're such a great way to change the mood in a room or dress up a room. These wallpapers by Muffin & Mani are fun, vibrant and colorful, perfect for kid's rooms. Available at Baby's Got Style.

Yesterday was a rainy and lazy Tuesday for us here in California. It's actually going to be rainy all this week. I know the little guy gets a little bored at home sometimes, so I wanted to come up with some new entertainment. We laid down some craft paper and taped it down to our hardwood floors, and using our leftover chalkboard paint from our homemade kitchen, we painted out a road map with bushes and a few stop-lights.

Rubber stamps are a fun way to spend an afternoon with your little one when you have nothing else to do. It might get a little messy, but they always have a blast! Make sure you use ink pads that are easier to wash off (like the ColorBox series), give them a big piece of paper and let them go nuts!

This board is long overdue, my apologies! When we took our little guy to Asia last winter, some people asked for some travel advice - mainly "what can we take on the plane to keep our baby occupied?". Here are some things we found to be very useful:

This would've been so much when my sister and I were little! The walls provide privacy which is nice, but I love the portholes between each sleeping space.

S's first love was definitely Elmo (who he called "wawa"), and since then he's fallen in love with Anpanman (Japanese cartoon about a bread hero), The Lion King (mainly with the songs and the scene where Timone and Pumba teach Simba to eat worms "slimy but satisfying") and
